Is the PSP Media Manager Pro worth it?
What is the most convenient way to get media, such as movies and MP3s, from my computer to my PSP? I just recently acquired one and don't know if I should shell out the $20 for the Media Manager Pro or not. I've seen the USB cables on Amazon.com for $5 and I was wondering if it was more reasonable to get the Media Manager Pro or to just get the USB cable and use any free converters. Do they even make these? Thanks.

No, I have to say in using that program it was the biggest piece of crap I have ever using in my opinion. Even though my files were in the right format Sony said had to "optimize" them and make me wait 20 minutes for it, Screw that!
I don't bother with converting dvds to put on the psp as I have a portable dvd player for that, Any clips that I do like (short comedy sketches, family guy, ect) I just download them from youtube using Vixy beta and then just chuck them in to the video folder.
Music, we won't go in to how I get the music but if they ever need converting I just use media player for that. Make sure you have enabled WMA playback , takes a couple of tries but is worth it as I don't have to spend time converting now. These all go into the music folder with other folders inside separating the albums.
The only photos I have on there are ones that I use for backgrounds, It take a lot of image formats I tried a few such as, jpeg, gif and I believe it manged show to a png. As you might be guessing these go in the photos folder.
And the usb cable is just a mini usb cable the type you get with cameras and such, We have loads of them but the charging one is worth it and very useful if you was thinking about getting that one.
Hope that was of some help, Joe.

Just need a custom firmware and you can enable it in the recovery menu.thehackerinside wrote:enabled WMA playback (you need wifi)
There is no reason to pay for software to put media on your PSP. You can drag and drop files to the memory stick when the PSP is connected to your computer. There are several free video converter programs that will convert videos to a format the PSP will play (I recommend media coder).

Wast of money. I have a great program (I could give you a link if you pm me) that converts movies of all formats into a psp compatible video At good quality) MP3s just simply drag and drop, and pictures like that one other person said I only use the picture function for either daedalus screen shots, or PSP wallpapers.
