Maybe next year or in '10 man that sounds weird... I'll go and bring my videography skills. That is, I'll hold the camera up as high as I can while standing on a chair to get a pan shot of the museum room, and use a modified tripod on casters (or sit in an office chair and scoot along) for the "walking" shot near the beginning of the film. And maybe also narration! Who knows...

One proviso: every time I appear in a picture or video clip, I must have some kind of obstruction in front of me (like a controller, laptop screen, or creatively placed foreground object), like Wilson on 'Home Improvement'. Why? Because! :P

Overall, MGC '08 looked like fun!

next year we should all go roller skating. kittens and i went and it was the most fun i've ever had making a fool out of myself.
was the roller skating at a indoor rink business or just a outdoor rink in a park or something?

I'd always be down for some roller hockey

(I had my eye on a SNES for $35) I was sitting in the front row right next to the guy filming Ben's presentation. Too bad I couldn't make it today. Ah well, there's always next year.
Wow you were sitting next to me and you didn't even say "Hi"?

Yeah the whole weekend was blast!

I am working on getting the video off my camcorder, you know where everyone introduces themselves. But I Think the reason I'm having problems is that I broke a cardinal rule, don't over write another video clip. I can still get it using a video capture card and just video out from the camcorder. I hope to have it by next week, if not spam my mail to get my butt in gear.

Buy List
Atari Flashback 2.0
Missile Command (Atari)
"The Classics" T-shirt
Mini SNES
N64
Ocarina of Time

As for all of you complaining about driving. I had to drive 6 hours to drop off gannon, then 8, yes 8 hours, to drive home. That's a total of 14 hours! And I know that Iowa is not OVER 9000 miles away. So stop complaining.

See you all next year.

We'll be talking about this forever.
I need a sign to let me know you're here. All of these lines are crossed over the atmosphere. I need to know that things are gonna look up. 'Cause I feel like I'm drowning in a sea spilled from a cup.

Just caught the podcast, funny to see it start in my area of the museum (all the stuff from the Asteroids competition poster to the TI99/4A 2 rows over was my stuff).

Those aren't pong ripoffs, those are all Atari branded pong machines, that was the Atari section of the museum.

That red and rainbow colored 2600 is a Kee Games 2600. For those not familiar, Kee Games was a self-created competitor that Nolan created in 1973 to get his arcade games more sales/distribution. At that time in the industry, vendors usually only signed with a specific brand/manufacturer. So he had his next door neighbor (Joe Keenan) as president and gave him one of his early (and top) engineers, Steve Bristow. The plan worked, but Kee actually started becoming more popular at the time (Kee created Tank, and a few other originals besides releasing clones of Atari created coins). They eventually merged back in to Atari in '75.

During '79-'80, Atari looked at reviving the Kee name to once again increase market share (at the time 2600's were sold under Atari and Sears Telegames versions), and result is the Kee 2600 proto.

Other protos in the area included the 1090XL Expansion Box for the Atari 8-bit computers, and the Ataritel video phone.

There was also a pre-release "club" version of the 520st on display in the Tramiel era section.
