Deecnt headphones for under 50 bucks?

Could someone suggest some decent headphones for under 50 bucks that I could get off amazon or Circuit City? I want some real HD kind of crap since I'm trying to hookup my new gaming room with like all audiophile quality stuff.

i have skullcandy's. they're great if you want something to just throw around and have awesome sound quality. but yea, for what you're looking for, i'd go with sennheisers.

I think he wants somthing for his gameroom, personally earbuds hurt my ears after wearing them for over a halfhour, although those a my $10 JVC earbuds, but I tried my buddies $30-$40 and they didn`t make it any better.

I got these huge headphones I use sometimes, they are Realistic Nova 40s (I do not wear them in public, that would look really weird) that are older than me, but they kinda tire your neck after a while if you don`t have your head resting on somthing, but are very comfortable and have nice quality sound, and block out quite a bit of noise, but like I said they are cumbersome.

I have a pair of Sony MDR-V150s I got for $20 at K-Mart, and they're great for the price. The only thing I don't like is the cord. It's rubbery so you get a bit of cord noise if it's flapping around, and there's no inline volume control. Other than that they're comfortable, on-ear headphones that have full frequency response for a decent price.

Other than that I use the Phillips headphones that came with a CD player and my iPod's stock earbuds.

I picked up a pair of these in November just in time for Call of Duty 4, and they flexed their muscles in fine form for the five hours it took me to plow (read: casually saunter) through that game, and like Samus said, they can really take a nice amount of abuse. The ones I've linked you to are sixty dollars, but they can be found cheaper elsewhere.

Prior to that, I had a pair of these, which had a very nice sound but a very flimsy cord. If you pick them up, don't tug on the cord in any manner, ever. Don't misjudge how much slack you've got and try to wheel away from your computer with them on, don't pull them out of the speaker jack by anything other than the very end of the cord, etc. Also, this might not matter to you, but the fabric that's over the speakers in the headphones gets ratty in a hurry. It doesn't change the sound or their wearability or anything, but it might give you an uncomfortable tickle from time to time and it's not exactly the hottest looking of degradations.

Sennheiser, they have quite a few sets for under $50 and they are above everything else, especially in comfort. Best bang for your buck are the eh150.

Most other sets squeeze your head and fall apart.

I have a pair of these that I got for Christmas. The price is a little high (I think you can get them for like $75 is you look around) but the quality is amazing. Highly recommended.

I invested in a pair of Sony MDR7506's a while ago. These are state-of-the-art headphones, and it's pretty much impossible to get any better than them. Of course, this is an opinionated matter, but these are literally the most popular studio headphones in the world; and they are such for a reason. If you look for it, you'll actually see these exact headphones in use on TV a lot. People have said they've used several thousand dollar headphones before and none of them come close to these $80 headphones. Okay, yes, they're $80... I know you asked for under $50, but if you wanted TRUE quality, this is what you need. I'm listening to the Guilty Gear XX soundtrack through them right now; pure perfection.

I have a hard time listening to music though ANY other headphones/earphones because I'm so spoiled on these.

But, maybe you need something more specialized? If you're looking for more of a gaming/home theater headset and sound accuracy isn't quite as important to you, then you might want to look into one of those 5.1 surround sound headsets with a boom mic attached. Something like these would likely blow your mind.

Everyone's ears are different, and some people's ears are so inferior that they can't even process/appreciate surround sound. There are actually people out there that are so illiterate that they'll say stuff like, "You only have two ears; why do you need more than two speakers?" These are people without what I call "directional hearing". The term speaks for itself. If you are one of these people, then it doesn't really matter what headphones you get... you won't be able to tell the difference anyway. Just look for something cheap and comfortable.

Edit: I've honestly never had the opportunity to wear a pair of surround sound headphones, but I've done lots or research on them. Here's a short review of the ones I suggested.

Edit 2: By the way, what else are you planning for this setup of yours? I've done countless hours of research on home theater / studio equipment setups. I can steer you in the right direction on any question, if you need help on something else.

I'd hunt around for a pair of Grado SR 60's. I got some for christmas and they are easily the best pair I've used and I've used Â£2000 electrostatic headphones. Only warning is that they're open back so if you listen to your music loud, others will ear you. Well worth the price though.
