If you could go anywhere in the world...

Post by SpongeBuell »

...Where would you go, and why? I ask this partly because it's an interesting discussion, IMO, but also because I may work for a major airline this summer if all goes well. This would let me fly just about anywhere for free, if not ridiculously cheap. I'd prefer some place that speaks English or Spanish, since it would drive me nuts to be some place where they I don't speak the language. Also, somewhere outside the US would be great... my family got passports recently, and I'd love to be the first person to use it, and quite often at that :P

I'm thinking that if I can go there long enough, I'd go to Spain for a bit. I have friends that are here in WI right now, but they are from Mallorca and Menorca, and will be there by the time I get this job.

Like I said, you heard what I'd like but even if it's something completely different than what I said go ahead and say something... as many places as you want!

Mallorca would be a good choice. I have an uncle that lives in Palma (on Mallorca). Also, an interesting place to visit would be Dubai in the U.A.E. Just to see it you know?

One neat place to go would be Zimbabwe in Africa. I don't know if you saw my thread about Devil's Pool, but that's where that is. You could check out Victoria Falls. I've been there and its an AMAZING sight. The Zambezi River is incredible. Also you could see the Kariba Dam on the Zimbabwe/Zambia border. It is HUGE; one of the largest in the world. And you should see the crocs down below. It's 128 meters high and the crocs are so big that you can see them perfectly clear. Like I'm talking scales and everything. Its nuts.

I don't need a passport because I just teleport there... they call me the JUMPER!

I've been to Canada to visit relatives, but they live in the middle of nowhere, so I haven't been to any major cities. I'd like to go there to visit some of the major cites.
New Zealand and Australia would be cool to visit, along with Europe, though no one country has any particular draw to me, so I'd probably do something like a drive through most of them.

Probably Tokyo to visit my relatives there. Hong Kong would be cool, and I've always wanted to go to Israel. Austrailia would also be a fun place to visit.

And for everyone who says they want to go to Canada, why? I mean, I've been to Canada at least 20 times being right on the border here in Michigan, and it's nothing great at all. The scenery is bland, the major cities are nice, but the look (and smell) exactly like any old US city, especially Toronto. To me, there's just no draw.
