Phoenix Wright GBA Translated ROM?

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

I don't know how many of you know, but the DS version of Phoenix Wright is a remake. The original was a GBA game released in 2001, known as Gyakuten Saiban Yomigaeru Gyakuten in Japan. Does anyone know if there's an English translated version in existence? I've got the DS game, so I assume this is legitimate. Thanks!

Do you mean a translated version for GBA? I'm not sure about that... I know they have the first 3 Gyakuten Saiban's translated for DS, but I don't know if they bothered making a GBA version. (I seem to remember my roommate telling me they did though.)

Also, there is a 4th Gyakuten which has not been translated yet.

Yep, that's what I mean! :D I played the second one and loved it, but I didn't play the first. My only DS access for the past 6 months has been to my sister's old one, but she just sold it, quite ironically the day I bought a copy of Ace Attorney  . Seeing as I'm getting and iPod Touch, though, I thought it'd be a great way to play the first one in English with the GBA emulator, but I've yet to come across a translated version of the GBA game at all. If your roommate ever happens to come up with anything, though, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

Edit: They were not translated for the GBA! Straight to the DS ports.

Thanks Wikipedia!

Thanks Wikipedia!
Is that relating to official ports, though? I mean, I know the game was never released outside of Japan, I'm talking about a fan-translation project of some sort.

I know that there are fan translations, but I have never used one. They do exist on the web though, emulation is your friend.

All I know of is a translation of the first case for Gyakuten Saiban 3. However, as the DS version was announced outside of Japan the project was discontinued and files taken down.

I still have the rom on my computer though, not sure about the actual .ips though, but should probably be on another harddrive.

Sorry for posting in a one-month-old topic, but just sharing what I know in case you didn't know of this already. (But the project was quite well-known, so chances are that you probably did :P)

No, I didn't. Thanks for the information! I'll go digging for it somewhere. :D

This is just a patch, you need to download the rom elsewhere.

Oh, and it's just the 1st case.
It also comes with a patcher.

I could have sworn this game already came with the option to play in english from startup but I guess I was wrong.

nope, that was only the ds version, not the gba one. They made the japanese ds version (with an english translation) after they made the American game, but both of those came after the original japanese gba version.
