i dont have any portable console plans right now but in a few months i should probably put a new computer together and if i had the money i would put together a tablet computer with a mini-itx or pico-itx board in there just for fun since i have no use for such a thing.

Nope, I made one for my girlfriend and then a second one for some friends who were getting married. My mom keeps dropping hints about how the price of digital picture frames have lowered and how maybe we should get one for my grandparents and stuff - it's all I can do to not tell her she's getting one soon enough!dudex77 wrote:Didn't you make that other one for your mom already?Life of Brian wrote:I'm also working on making a couple of Christmas gifts (digital picture frame for Mom and a stepping stool for my little niece).

I'm not working on a modding project, per se, but I am working on:
* Making a small collection of homebrew stuff for the DreamCast
* Burning a bunch of stuff from TV-Nihon onto DVD. I've already got the entire series, GoGo Sentai Boukenger (turned into Power Rangers Operation Overdrive), and currently burning what episodes I have for many others series.
* Toying around with the idea of a homemade buzzer setup for You Don't Know Jack (see my thread)
* Writing a goth revision of L. Frank Baum's Oz books (currently doing a rough draft of the first book)

When I do get around to revising the G-MOTE's design. Which will probly be early of next year. I'm planing on making a vacum-formed case for it that is way more comfortable and user freindly than the Orignal G-MOTE. And If all goes well and people realy like the new design. I've been thinking about do a production for of like a 100 G-MOTE's?nightwheel wrote:

Bacteria has inspired me with his PDA project, I've decided to try my hand with my own!
His is gorgeous, but I'm going to use a lithium battery, as I wanna keep it thin for a Christmas gift to someone. I got an iPAQ H3760 for the operation.

I might try to replace the lithium battery in my PSP with 6 NiMH AAs (2 parallel sets of 3 in series). All 6 of them will fit where the UMD drive is supposed to be. Maybe even add another set of 3 AAAs where the lithium cell is supposed to go. In all, it'll probably add up to 5-6Ah @~3.7v, which means I'll need to get a bigger memory stick to store movies on. Now, to get a cheap PSP battery...

you bastards stop using AA's and AAA's it is so terrible. come on lion battery packs are square instead of round so that gives at least 100 points in there favor right there, and if you are worried about "explosions" you are dumb if it explodes that means you are not doing it right and if you are not doing it right, shame on you.
you guys are so annoying with your gigantic battery choices.
maybe that sounded a little mean, ha.
marshalh that picture makes me weep, i feel you pain. also software rasterization is not very hard i had to do it for a one week assignment once and it was the easy part (not like i did it though, you know because i'm a pretty terrible and lazy student, lol.)

Li-ions are expensive. AA's and AAA's are cheap and do the same job. Shut up and let people make their own choices.illustriouschin wrote:you bastards stop using AA's and AAA's it is so terrible. come on lion battery packs are square instead of round so that gives at least 100 points in there favor right there, and if you are worried about "explosions" you are dumb if it explodes that means you are not doing it right and if you are not doing it right, shame on you.you guys are so annoying with your gigantic battery choices.

My projects:
GP2x (thread started) - waiting for a really cheap one to come from Australia so I can rip it apart.
...then...
Another N64p, I want to make one as thin as possible. I think it is quite possible to make an N64p the magic 29mm thick (ideal hand holding size), including fan and C sized batteries - in a case about the same length and breadth as my Nintendo 64 Advance. Other ones in the forum are thicker than that. It might mean the cart goes in from the right hand side rather than from the top or underside - it will be an interesting design concept, but with the experience I gained to date, I can design everything packed and tight, and do the wiring better. I might need to use mylar speakers instead of cone ones to save space though.
