My friend has it and says it's great, but has major issues like a memory leak and glitches.
I might want to get it (it seems like my kind of game), but I'm worried about several things:
1) Possible pay-to-play in the near future.
2) Major Glitches: Why was it released so early? Is this poor decision reflecting things to come?
3) IGN gave it a 6.8
Can someone clear one, two, or all of these up for me?

I have it and have been enjoying a lot. The gameplay can get repetitive, a lot of nonstop mouse clicking. But if you liked Diablo II you'll enjoy it. The story is pretty interesting, I'm about halfway through, but there are so many other games coming out right now I haven't had a lot of time to focus on it.
As far as glitches, I haven't experienced any. It's all been running very smoothly and looks great on my MacBook Pro with BootCamp.
Again, it's not a game for everyone, but if you like action RPGs, go for it. Also, the Marksman is tons of fun to play.

i have it also.
it is buggy and laggy but it doesnt draw away from the fun factor.
i doubt it will be pay to play for everyone but i plan on paying for the one time fee.
i would say its much higher then 6.8. this game hints of diablo 2 but doesnt come quite as close to perfection that d2 provided but it is a great game.
if your friend is local ask him to let you take a seat and mess around for a little bit. its easy to learn to play and youll be up and killing zombies in no time.

I can say this much: the demo was awful. A-W-F-U-L. I was planning on buying the game on Halloween (release day here in the States) based on what I'd seen and read on the game, but between the atrocious demo and the lousy reviews, I don't know if I plan to buy it at all, even if I spot it in a bargain bin at some point down the road. The inventory system was absolutely maddening, and the gameplay just felt clumsy and generic, not to mention that it had these weird quests that were either embarrassingly stupid or poor attempts at comedy being handed out by NPCs with laughable voice acting. As for pay-to-play, I was under the impression that it was free to play the game online, but if you paid a monthly fee, you got extra perks; think the Xbox Live "Silver" and "Gold" memberships.
