Here in Massachusetts we can get our permits at 16 and licenses at 16 1/2 if we go through driver's ed, 18 if we skip driving school and wait out the permit period. When you have a permit, you have to have someone with at least 5 years of driving experience riding shotgun, and you can't have any passengers that aren't direct family members for the first 6 months of having your license.
I don't know about you, but I see a lot of adult drivers who are at least as bad as kid drivers. The most common problems are cell phones and impatience. It's pretty bad when you're already doing 60 in a 55 and some guy comes flying up behind you doing at least 70. And in a league of their own you get the airhead Paris and Nicole wannabes flying around with their phones, mochajavabentefancyburntexpensivelatte coffee, and novelty-size sunglasses. They're just too freaking oblivious to drive. And then there are the ricers, who try to race you, lose, and scream away in a cloud of fart noise and juvenile angst.
So don't make mass generalizations about age causing driving problems. Adults can be just as bad as kids, and they've been driving longer.but you are right, some kids don't know any better and think they're invincible, especially when surrounded by 2000 pounds of steel and speakers.

100mph? pfffft. (please not, triton does not condone flagrant violations of speed limits even tho he commonly disregards them on highways and roads with no traffic)i will now take this time to describe my awesome volvo in more detail. current mods include a cheap cold air intake and the removal of basicaly all my exhaust, from the engine it goes engine>exhaust manifold>turbo>downpipe> thats it! im putting on my glasspack muffler soon. it is very VERY loud and pretty powerful
i have a long list of planned mods but first i have to fix:
*My speedometer (wire came loose, should take about 10 min to fix
*the overdrive solenoid on my transmission( should fix the shift hesitations and random downshifts at lower RPMs)
*my PCV/flametrap, needs cleaned out or im going to blow oil seals, already leaking
*going to seafoam the crap out of it, cleans out the motor and runs better afterwards
*oil change after seafoam
*new sparkplugs and wires and maybe a new coil too
*put on the glasspack, its too damn loud, like get pulled over for being loud loud
FUTURE MODS:
*37-46 pound hour fuel injectors and fuel pressure reg and pump if need be
*manual boost controller and calibrated boost gauge
*ported exhaust manifold and larger turbo downpipe, if im feeling like blowing ~100-300$ mebe a bigger turbo!
*improved cold air intake and a HUGE (31"x12"x3") intercooler with custom pipes and fittings
*random cosmetic upgrades such as painted grill(done already, pics to follow) painted bumpers and side trim, buff the headlights, new passenger corner light, new taillights etc
*suspension upgrades next year or later, lowering springs, bilstin or koni shocks and struts, new poly bushings and possibly bigger antisway bars
audio upgrades coming soon: all new 5.25" door speakers, pioneer CD player, 2 rockford fosgate punch stage 1 8" subs and either a diamond D3 600.1 or a power acoustik TS620-2 (if my neighbor is gonna sell it) and some other stuff

I meant 100 mph. I was referring to how fast kids will go given the power to drive that fast. I'm not implying that's the speed limit or the maximum speed of a car or anything of the sort. It didn't really make sense, and still doesn't even to me.
I do tend to make mass generalizations. That's how I roll.
I won't deny it, because I am completely guilty of that, but it isn't mass generalizations from my poop hole. There is at least some truth to every one of them. (Cars do drive on roads!

Seriously, though, what is with the imperial system? It was useful in the 18th century maybe, but now-a-days, I find it only an inconvenience converting it to sense-making metric.

1 foot= 12 inches
Metric system is good here only for measuring things smaller that 1 inch, or for science class. The Imperial System isn't even used in physics. It's always metric. What confuses me is when I'm given size comparisons in meters, centimeters, and millimeters. Meters aren't THAT confusing, however because 1 m is approximately= 3.5 ft.
BTW, ounces, pounds, and tons are FORCES, not MASSES in physics. As a matter of fact, weight IS a force. 1lb=1N, right?

Same here, but guess what I just did (having had my license ~1.5 months) less than an hour ago; I drove a couple friends home from a choir concert at school. The fastest I have gone in my Explorer is about 45mph, because I haven't had any reason to drive it on any highways yet. I usually drive about 5 over on normal roads, but I go the speed limit or lower in residential.

i repeat again that i do not condone speeding, especially not in residential areas, fastest (confirmed) speed that i have hit was in our 94 lebarron, 120MPH, fastest in my volvo was 110 (confirmed by speedo and GPS) both of these were on long straight stretches of highway with no other traffic around, in town and in traffic i seldom go more than 10mph over the speed limit, its harder in my volvo because the speedometer doesnt work (will be fixing that soon)

etc.
Seems much simpler. The reason imperial is not used in physics or anything like that is because it's very easy to get messed up in converting units. With metric, converting is as simple as moving the decimal over.
For everyday measurements, I agree that imperial is inferior. Measuring wood is easier in inches, and visualizing feet is much easier than visualizing metres.
As for you forces thing, just...just stop talking. Those are all masses. Forces are in Newtons. A force is an entirely different group of particles. Although an object possesses potential force (Gravitational Potential Energy) by being a distance greater than zero from another object (like Earth). Weight is a force, but your math is completely illogical. Did you even think when you typed 1 lb = 1 N? You said yourself imperial isn't used in physics, then made an imperial unit equal to one metric unit.
