What System Should I Take A Crack At?

Post by Jeff »

Alright, I"m only 13 and this will be my first project, my mom might say no if she doesn't like.

So which one? SNES, NES, or Genesis?

NOTE: I can easily access all 3 consoles, and someone near buy sells the Super Joy's, so NOAC's can be got.

Gnenesis and SNES are about the same skill level, but NES is hard because you have to put a new cartridge port in.

Well you don't have too... In my experience with neses (I've had a lot ) If your carts are clean and push yor cart straight into the conectors (Not at a 45 degree angle, then push down.) the games will work.

If you use the original (the one that has spring contacts on one side of the connnector and flat contacts on the other side)and you bump the NES at all it will lock up your game
I hate those things, nintendo was not thinking at all when they designed that connector.

Well, whatever you decide to make, it needs flames, lots and lots of flames.

I grew up on SNES, i got it back in like '94 or '95 when i was only 5 or 6 or 7 or something. In my opinion, it owns everything i never replaced my old, broken system, but i still play SMW for GBA all the time, it never gets old. When i build my first portable, without a doubt itll be SNES.
Hell, I ain't goin' out there, that guy tried to kiss me!

I think a super power mega joy NOAC controller thing would be the easiest, especially if you buy one that already has a cartridge connector and use the built in controller. Just disable the built in games get a screen put it in a case hook up a famicom adapter and you are done. I am doing a SNES right now and I think the NOAC would definitely be easier. I really want to build one too but I never had an NES so I don't have any games, so it would be pointless, unless someone would want to buy it (hint, hint).

The bad thing about the original is it rubs of the bottom contacts. And eventually will make games unplayable

I would portablize whichever system you like best. While the NES is slightly harder, it is still not that bad. SNES and Genny are about the same.
