For homebrew, the phat is best. For games, music, and movies, slim is best, its homebrew isn't quite as good as the phat's (no 1.5 FW support).
I've heard Battlfront 2 is a good game, and the demo for Medal of Honor: Heros was pretty good.

Back to the actual question, the Slim has twice the amount of NAND memory, te extra being used to quicken loading times. But homebrew wise, this should really improve homebrew as it'll have more memory to use
