They probably gauged the reactions of those at E3 (who loved the PSP's look) and took ideas from that.

It's definitely "more adult". It's very sleek and stylish - plus it's got a huge advantage over the PSP in that it has a clamshell case to prevent screen damage. Nintendo's actually listening to consumer opinion for a change. I think you may have to change your opinion about Nintendo again in the future, Ben.benheckc wrote:Wow, this new design is a lot better. I wondered why they didn't put the speaker (here) in the original one they had at E3. Question answered!
And is it just me or is this design "more adult"?
I wonder how Revolution is going to pan out. We were all pleasantly surprised by the Nintendo DS, hopefully Nintendo has another ace up their sleeves. They definitely seem to be making a lot of wise choices lately.
They learned a lot from the N64 and Virtual Boy.

about that power button well in my GBOmg i put the light button next to the d-pad and every one was woried well ive never ever had a problem and i know cus when your playing a game and you know the controls its kind of hard to mess up and its all done but the feel of the controler any way its not like you have to look down and every thing every thime you use it... witch is why im not realy liking the novlty of GBA and cube adptablity cus its all you need to look at your screen now and i have that second or two of changing over from the big screen to the little screen..
the only game on the cube where thats ok is in four swords cus its done link to the past style so when your in an entrance no one atacks you so theres no problem with it.. but on the ds the screens will be closer together like playing graal on one screen and using a chat or im box on the other.
also i love the freaking wifi on this thing and you know there will be some one majesco most likly that will make a cube browser for it and i cant wait
and the new clean look. i think is smaller too. will distroy the freaking psp
and its crap battry and little stupid games ah cant say any good things about it.
well i guess im not pro ds im just anti stupid usless things. like ok im in a store and im thinking what do i want to save money to get?
a wierless linking heavy bad for battrys system with games i hate to have to play again not to mention the price i would have to pay. or a clean light inovative wifi linking system thats less expensave, with games i love to play over and over and games i realy want.
i dont know i always go off on a rant on the Nintendo handheld systems. i still use my game boy pocket more than any other game boy and ive got tons of dfirent game boys from the brick to the flippy.

Even with the power button up there, you have to admit, how often does your thumb slide that far up north?
Nintendo was smart with the DS. They've been planning this carefully, and there's a great chance they won't screw it up.
And please, don't compare the DS and PSP (ever). They're not comparable.

I have the full-size pics straight from Nintendo, and the button above the d-pad is clearly labelled "POWER". The buttons to the left and right above the A/B/X/Y buttons are "SELECT" and "START" respectively. Strangely, I can't see a button to control the light anywhere so it must be on the side.Cyberblade wrote:Are you sure thats the power button? Perhaps it serves another function altogether. Perhaps a light off feature like the SP?
