Need another suggestion for 360 build

Post by Jay_SWAT »

Ben was right, that westinghouse 17'' is almost impossible to find for the laptop 360.

Has anyone built one using a different screen or have any suggestions?

Ben is the only person who has made a 360 laptop, so I doubt people can give you any suggestions.
Meh, I don't post much.

I'm using a acer AL9117W 19 inch wide screen. Easy to hack plus I needed the extra room now just need to change the heat sink to something smaller. :?:

Does that Acer have the built in speakers? Do you already your laptop built or are you in the middle of it?

I thought about just going with the 19 inch as well but it makes the laptop really big compared to using the 17''.

Have you run into any issues using that paticular screen?

yes the monitor has built in speakers (not very loud to me anyway  ) it could be how its set up in the menu, right now I'm in the middle of building my laptop I don't know how I want to set up my heat sink design. I thought about using another kind of heat sink for the cpu and having it modified for the x clamps. but as far as the screen is concerned I haven't had many problems the guts are in the middle of the back panel which I had to relocate. I removed the buttons and rewired them just above my keyboard. what kind of heat sink mod did you have in mind or did you mod it already? I left the caps alone on the mobo I just cant have that large heat sink there makes the laptop to big.

I havn't started mine yet. Im in the process of trying to gather all my parts. I'm still trying to decide if its worth buying the elite model for use with the laptop or if i'm just going to use the 360 i already have.
