I drink around two quarts of sweet tea every day. It is by far my favorite beverage. I can't drink any of that tea from a can or any of that Nestea crap, though.
I'm from the south, but I don't quite follow the typical southern sweet tea recipe because I find it too sweet to drink in large volumes.
I brew one family-size Lipton tea bag in around two quarts previously boiling water for around half an hour and then add about six or six and a half spoonfuls of sugar. I don't know exactly how much sugar that is. I use a normal small spoon like people use to eat cereal or stir hot tea. It's about the same size as those spoons that come in plastic disposable utensil sets.
Does anyone know the proper name for that spoon?
Anyway, brewing the tea like this makes it pretty refreshing, and it's not too hard to drink a lot of it very quickly.
