A new (even slimmer!) version of PStwo in the works.

Includes PS2, Xbox 1, GameCube (but not the Phantom Game Console)

Are you suggesting that Sony should add a color screen, backlight, and built in battery to the PSTwo?
I didnt doubt that a ps2 portable could be built I have seen the ones that have been built by people on this forum.
He was making fun of what I said about Sony being remake happy and comparing it to the different remakes of the Game Boys.
Yeah, I wasn't being serious. It's hard to convey sarcasm on the internet. Usually a ":P" or similar will suffice, but even that doesn't always work.

I for one cant wait till this hits the shelf. And will be buying one asap for my ps2 project.

I tried one awhile ago but lost a solder tab so hopefully its a lot smaller and easier to work with inside.

Smaller usually doesn't mean easier to work with...

It's not a new SKU, It's just the newest revision of the PStwo. They removed a lot of components whuch made it lighter, but it's not a slimmer pstwo, it just doesn't weigh as much.
Here is the Engadget about it http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/08/sony ... t-a-third/
It explains that this is nothing more than a hardware revision.

Yup! But that wasn't as clear when the news first appeared.

It should make a portable much easier. You can also remove some of the older hardware that isn't updated and update it yourself.

The aritcle I read on it said that the internal hardware is going to be "slimmed down" meaning lighter, but knowing how companies work it should also be smaller internals, the article said also that it would be in the same slim case as previous version, but when you are putting it in a custom case anyway who cares what the externals are
