haha me 2 i was so mad too cuz all my friends had ps1's and i thought it sucked but it was cool with ssb and mario kart and zelda then they were all mad hehe
You could just laugh at them when they had friends over and only 2 people could play at a time. Sony designed the PS1 and PS2 for people without friends and siblings.

When I was about 6 or 7 I played my friend's SNES (Super Mario World is awesome) and another friend's Game Boy (can't remember if it was a GBO, pocket, or color), and when I was 8 or 9 I got an N64 for Chirstmas (with SM64, like everyone else). Got a GBC at about 11, GBA a couple years later. Didn't get a Xbox til 1.5 years ago, then PSP about 8 months ago.
We usually don't get a system until its about halfway through its life, the 360 was coming out about the same time we got our Xbox.

Well, my main contact with videogames as a youngster was my cousin. I loved watching him play SNES (and later N64). Sometimes I would play, but I was always terrible.
Then when I was 9, my friends introduced me to the wonders of Pokémon, and I got a GameBoy Color. Then about a year later I got an N64 (about 6 months before the 'cube came out). I bought tons of used N64 games, and only one new one (SSB for $40) from Funcoland (NOT GameStop).

I remember playing the NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, and Game Gear through my friends and family, but the first console I ever owned was a Sega Saturn, and the first handheld I ever owned was a Game Gear, which I got some years after the Saturn.

Edit: I also remember that a friend of mine in preschool (about five or six years prior to getting the Saturn) got me into Sonic, and that I had numerous Sonic toys and a plush Sonic figurine. Incidentally, the first Sonic game I actually owned was Sonic 3D Blast, a game which I didn't beat until around the time of the Xbox 360 launch.

I asked my mom, and she said I could beat green hill zone [sonic one} when I was 11 months.
I am twelve.

Probably about 4 or 5, I remember sitting with my dad playing DOS games (the most memorable of which was Battlezone, still a favorite to this day). All I new was windows NT though so I had to wait for him to be around top play games :( (of course at that age the spinning desk chair in front of the computer was nearly as fun as Battlezone). Unfortunately my mom was of the opinion that video games would rot my brain (for some reason this did not stop a healthy influx of windows games though, he he)h, so I never had a console until I received a GBA for Christmas of '01.

Thinking about what Sir Games-A-Lot said, I also recall playing DOS games probably as early as age two. Something to do with Sesame Street's Ernie taking a bath, if I recall properly.

I got the SNES when I was like 6 or 7. My favorite game is still Super Mario World (came with the SNES) even though I don't still own the SNES version, I have it on GBA.

I remember watching my dad play Doom on our old mac clone when I was 3 or 4. He played every few nights for a couple months before finally beating the game. This was because he would always go back and play the challenging parts again and again, until he got really good at them. He told me that way the rest of the game was really easy. Then his wrists started to hurt and he started to play less and less (he is a doctor). Eventually I began to play, despite my mom's alarm at seeing a 4 year old playing an intensely graphic game. Moved on to Quake, Descent, and some of these other new games before we finally got AOL when I was 5 or so. Then I would download demos of different games. Sometimes my aunt, who lived in Indonesia, would bring back illegal cd's packed with tons of games and applications.

I was screw good too. I knew Doom like the palm of my hand, had game saves at every single point with full weapons, ammo, health, shields, etc.

Finally around 8 or 9 I got an N64 and the rest is history. I got a GBC the next year (Pokemon FTW) and pretty much completely gave up computer games for console/handheld ones. Oh well.

My dad got the NES in 1990 and I was born in '91. So I've been playing since day 1!(not literally)
Why is it that every time I post in a thread, it dies?
