Hey guys I just bought a 7" TV just for use in making a portable atari so I hope it is going to work. I have never done anything like this before and whilst I have Ben's book it obviously has nothing in it about this particular screen.
I am now going to try and put up some pics hope it works.

It will probably work. But we need to find out if it has a composite video input. Take a picture of the jacks and we can tell you whether or not this screen will work.
Also, keep in mind that the 2600 can be greatly cut down, has very few controls, draws very little current (thus doesn't require a very large battery) and is a low-resolution device; a 7" may actually be overkill. You might want to use a smaller screen if for no other reason than because of the physical size of this one. Just my 2 cents... it's obviously all up to you in the end.

If this screen doesn't end up working out for you, I have 3 different size screens suitable for portabalizing in my FS thread in the Trading Post.

Hmm... $75 is a lot. You should have bought a Sony PSone screen. You could have got it for cheaper and much higher quality. And that connector would be svideo So yes, it should accept composite, and yes you could probably use it for the 2600. But still, the PSone screen would be better...
