im guessing it has a ac adapter inputing 9ish volts at 1000ma but internally itll use 5v from a regulator. if thats the case you could get it down to about 6v in batteries without it messing up.

you could run it off 4 or 5 aa cells (5 or 6 with rechargables) or pick up a single 7.2v battery made for rc cars or something of the like.

I've never looked for a place to buy the white plugs but if you can't find them anywhere you can cut them off and use these instead.

Either solder the jack onto the charger and the plug onto the battery, or the jack onto the battery and the plug onto the charger.

Please shorten your long links, either by using a site like tinyurl.com, or by typing the following in BBcode:

Easy, huh? :P

And by the way, that battery will work fine, but I don't recommend it. Ni-CD's have a memory effect when charging, and that battery will probably only last you about 6 months of semi-constant use. The charger will work, but RadioShack also sells a Ni-MH battery that works with that charger, it doesn't have the memory effect, and it's capacity is much greater; 3300mAh vs 2000mAh. Good luck!

@Jim: alright, i think i get it. so if i soldered the plug onto the battery, id put one jack in the charger, and another jack on the genesis itself so that it all works together. gotcha.

@CronoTriggerfan: so should i just buy that battery for now, and when it starts acting funky i pick up the other battery you were talking about? that way, i have the charger, and i can use that battery for a short time before getting the other one.

oh, and thanks for the advise about the links, i'll do that next time.

i might be missing something, but i cant see how you connected the batteries to everything else, did you just solder the wires or did you use clips? please tell me if i just missed it in the picture.
