Quite a bit of the new Larry the Cable Guy movie "Witless Protection" was filmed in my hometown of Plano, IL. They were here filming like three weeks ago for a week, then came back a week ago, did more filming, and left a couple days ago. Because new movies should always have their plots spilled, here's some spoilers:
-The movie takes place in Mississippi [how Illinois looks like Mississippi, I'll never know]
-Larry's character drives a brown Ford Bronco [they had two of them here for filming]
-The sheriff's station in the movie is actually the train station here in town
-There's a diner in the movie called Flo's Diner [it's really called Main Street Diner because it's on Main Street, and it's about four blocks from my house]
-Numerous car chase scenes were filmed out on the backroads outside of town

Also, if any of you live in or near San Clemente, Calafornia, you live in the town where my personal favourite movie, Brick, was filmed. And BTW, whoever hasn't seen it... Watch it. Now. Go ahead, I'll wait...IMDB wrote:Titles with locations including: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada

I forgot about a few things filmed in the towns around me.
-A Coca-Cola commercial was filmed at a motel in Yorkville [5 miles from my hometown]. My family was driving through town and we saw all these lights and cameras and stuff, it was pretty cool.
-One of the scenes from Close Encounters of the Third Kind was filmed on a backroad outside Oswego [10 miles from me], I haven't seen the movie, but I've been told it's a part where the spaceship flies about a couple people in a car on a backroad surrounded by cornfields.
-Two scenes from Wayne's World were filmed in Aurora [15 miles from my house]. Yes, the movie is set in Aurora, but the only things that are actually Aurora is the White Castle [torn down and replaced because the foundation started sinking] and the part where they pick up the person sitting on the bench that says "Aurora" on it [and the City of Aurora still uses that logo, btw]. Also, the car spike is in Berwyn, IL, which is closer to Chicago. And on a side note, none of Wayne's World 2 was filmed in Illinois.
