PSX drive with PSone board
Well heres the deal. I took apart the PSone that I got to make a portable and took everything off the board, problem is I didnt check to see if it actually worked. There lies the first problem my PSone is in pieces. I connected the power back up to see if it at least powers on and it does, thank the video game gods. I also tried hooking up the cd drive to see if that works. Which I dont think does. The games spin up but they never seem to get to a consistent speed. Like it really cant read the disks. But when I hooked up a PSX drive it started working more like normal. Am I going to have some problems down the road for using a PSX drive instead of the PSone drive?

After playing around with it for a while i was able to get it hooked up to a TV by reconnecting some things. Both drives worked! The PSone drive must have different technology used, because the game loaded with both drives, the PSX one was at a constant speed while the PSone would change. But the game worked with both. While i guess its just a learning experience, for all.
