not trying to be a killjoy on the virtual console games, but from what I gathered from the VC license agreement, you're supposed to delete those games from the console before you sell it (it also says that if you buy the unit used and it already has VC games on it, you're supposed to delete them, but I'm not sure how that is even enforcible)
From the OLD ozforces forums

Do they have a copy of that agreement on Nintendo's site? I'd just be curious to read it, because it sounds pretty iffy. As far as I know, the Wii doesn't use DRM or user profiles so I don't think they would have any means of enforcing it anyway.

Sounds like a scare tactic to sell more VC games to me.

I say sell it with the games on it. Good luck! :)

EDIT

Ah ha! I found it.

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/system ... cyEULA.jsp
You are responsible for clearing all Content, and any personal data, and all other stored sensitive information that is resident on your Wii Console prior to selling or otherwise transferring your Wii Console to any third party. If you acquire a used Wii console, you are also responsible for clearing all Content, personal data, and all other stored sensitive information that may be resident on your Wii Console at the time you acquire it.
I would take this to mean game saves, Miis, and any personal information you wouldn't want somebody to have should be wiped prior to sale.

Overall this is pretty vague, hence the ability for one person to interpret it differently from another. Seems like it's more of a CYA thing to protect all parties involved and to absolve Nintendo of any liability from the transaction. And to potentially sell more VC games.

I still say you should sell it as is. You spent good money on those games, so you should get some sort of return on that investment. It's not like you're copying the games or anything. They will go with the system they were downloaded on so it seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Plus, it makes your sale much more appealing to prospective buyers as you've got some pretty good VC games on there! :D

Yeah, just sell it with the games, that's a load of crap. Nothing against loup's statement, as it very well could be true, but it's just a big scam. That's like Nintendo telling you never to sell your used games and to burn them instead.

I was thinking $380 would be a good price.
Right now there is some guy locally who intends to buy it from me, but we will see if he shows up. If he ends up buying it I will let you guys know.

I'm no fan of the Wii by any means, but I would think judging by the amount of stuff you're selling you should be able to get more than that for it.

People are selling just the Wii itself on eBay and Craig's List for more than retail.

I would think you could get more like $450 out of it, but maybe i'm off my rocker.

You know, other than needing the money, nintendo really pissed me off with their lack of an online strategy. MP3 wont be having it, which is mega lame, one of the big appeals of the wii remote is that the pointer device would be great for a competant and ONLINE shooter. I thought of selling it for more, but i have seen bundles that sell for about $400 with a lot of actual wii titles, i think they are becomign mroe plentiful now.

the people who jack up the prices and use misleading advertising techniques on ebay sicken me.

they advertise it as having 7 sports titles when really its one sports title with 7 sections, and having 4 controllers when really it just has two wiimote/nunchuk pairs.

Ahhhh, I see. I guess I am off my rocker then. :D

Sounds like you've got it pretty well figured out then. It is too bad that they aren't more focused on the online aspect of gaming. I think they are alienating a large part of the gaming audience because of their lack of interest in it.

Hopefully that guy comes through and you can make the sale.

Yeah, although nintendo a lot of times goes in a different direction that is cool, in many ways they end up behind the times. It screwed them over with the n64 for sure.

I do believe that the N64 totally dominated everything ever. This years top 100 games had OoT as #1, nearly 10 years after it came out.
