i'm curious, have you ever received a Cease and Desist order from any major companies(Nintendo, Microsoft.. and ofcourse, Sony)? :P

I'm just curious about how you'd react if they threatened you with legal action :S

Why would he? All the portablizing and hardware mods we do here are legal, they can't file a lawsuit. :?

Just to let you know, Ben's almost never on his forums, so in the future, shoot him an e-mail to ask questions. :wink:

Possibly, but as xbox-scene is still up and running I'd say that the attempt to shut a mod site down isn't an easy thing. Keep in mind we're like a library, all we do is tell people where and how to do something, what they do with that information is up them. The major video game console manufactures' likely will not shut down benheck anyway. First reason being that one we're dealing with systems that most have stopped supporting, and two is if we work on a current system we have a good chance of breaking it and so that mean they get another console sale. Money is the key word and they're not going to get in between that and themselves.

Yeah, you are quite right. Noone can take such a silly risk. If somehow the risk is taken, possibly 1000 times more people than registered Benheck users will be opposing to risk-takers and I bet those opposing people will be the ones who make the industry stand alive.

Sony would. I mean, c'mon. The whole trying to stop homebrew on the PSP thing where tons of people were trying to get a PSP just for that.
