excellent deals!
I just got two excellent deals in a row, and I thought, why not make an excellent deals thread. My deals were.
A Compaq Presario SR1305WM with an AMD Sempron 3200 precessor, 512mb ram, and a 40 gig hdd. The motherboard has an agp slot for expandable graphics. It came with a Microsoft Wireless multimedia keyboard and mouse and a 15" Samsung flat panel display. this whole setup was only $60.
My second deal is complicated.
I have a Geforce 6200 256 mb. This card is ok, but it just can't get the performance that I need to play Quake 4, Doom 3, F.E.A.R. etc. comfortably. But it plays Half Life 2 beautifully. My friend is having trouble with his ATi Radeon 9250. it's giving him serious artifacts on all of his games, and all that he really wants to play is Half Life 2 and Call of Duty 2, so I told him that if I could get a new graphics card that I'd sell mine to him for $35.
So I was on ebay Sunday night and I won a Geforce FX 5950 ultra 256mb card for, guess what, exactly $35. So I got my upgrade for free, and I score 2000+ points higher in 3dmark03 and 60fps higher in the CounterStrike video stress test. It was the greatest free upgrade ever. I would really recommend the FX 5950 ultra to someone on a tight budget. It is not plagued by any of the problems of the early FX series cards, it outperforms the 6600 gt any day.
So any body else get any sweet deals lately?

I got a Dell Inspiron 5100 Laptop 2.66 p4, 256mb at the time, working battery, with a fried hard drive for $30. I then bought 768 mb of ram (a 512 and 256) off of geeks.com, but only the 512 worked
. 30 day warranty though. I put in a 20 GB HDD that my uncle had in his office. So far, this laptop cost $82 and can play WoW, HL2, Halo... It's good for a laptop.

I got a P4 2.40Ghz computer with 256MB of RAM, two hard drives (20GB and 40GB), and two optical drives (DVD-ROM, CD-RW) for free. No operating system though, and it is really noisy.
I'm in the process of making it into a FreeNAS video server for my network. When I open it up to put a big-ass hard drive in, I'm taking out/replacing some fans to quiet that damn thing down.

pismo!
I got an Apple Powerbook 2000 Firewire (AKA Pismo) for $25 total, including shipping, from a guy on ebay who had no idea how to fix a PRAM issue. It only had 128MB of RAM and a 6GB hard drive, but a similar one costs $225 on ebay.
Now it has 384M of RAM, os 10.4.9, an 80GB hard drive and an internal DVD burner. Basically, I used the money I planned to spend to get the thing in the first place on upgrades.

Um...I just got....
A model 2 NES, 4 or 5 controllers for it (some don't work)...a PILE of games.
An atari 2600 and 7200, with AN UNHOLY LOAD of games (two large suitcases full!)
A Sega Genesis, and ANOTHER PILE of games.....along with a 6-button Turbo controller, and 2 of the not-so-six button turbo controllers.
Ooh, and a game genie for the Genesis too...
All...for....FREE!!!!
