Charging battery via usb question

I made a wall power to usb charger. I ripped apart a standard wall adapter and put a 7805 in. It charges the Li-Po fine because a 7805 outputs 1000mA max, what a standard USB outputs. I do believe.

Tried TI.com?

But really, is there actually any simple guide that tells you how to go about making some sort of charger where it switches off by itself when it finishes charging via USB?
