Another Atari 2600 on a FPGA Project

Post by ···Agent EQzE··· »

In case nobody's seen this over at the AA forums:

http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=64309

He's been working with the schematics very carefully to make sure he gets all the 2600 quirks correct, comparing it against z26 and Stella emulators, and even going as far to implement the illegal opcodes used in some modern games.

I'd say there's a good chance that this attempt might be successful... and definitely good for VCS Portables.

To add to this, Kevin Horton is working on a FPGA console and is almost complete with the nes fpga code. Next he's working on the 2600 code I think. It only uses roms, so no carts work :'(
