Well first you need a charger of the correct voltage (duh

)

Then you'll need a DPDT switch.

So then when you wire it the Battery + and - will go on the middle two leads.
The systems on one side. and the charging jack to the other side.

His drawing is correct. Those are some beastly batteries, you should get a good 7-9 hours with them

ya just hook up a dpdt switch,
the center rings should have the batteries hooked up and the 2 sides should have the screen and n64 on one side and a dc adapter plug hooked up to the other side rings. Then make a connector for the charger that fits in the dc plug hooked up to one side of the switch and when the portable is off you can plug in the charger and charge the batteries

the charger comes with these adapter that has aligator clips on one end and the rc plug on the other so just slice that with a dc connector of your chose

Hey! Don't make fun of my (lack of) ms paint skils!

The main "blob" is a DPDT switch.

And from left to right the other "blobs" are the N64, C Batteries (I tried to make it look like one of those RC battery packs), and the charge jack.

Yes my batteries are beastly - I plan for this portable to ROCK!

And I plan not to fry any N64s - I am going to solder everything at my dad's work on those anti-static workbenches using $200 soldering irons!

(I love having a tech-savvy dad!).

I am using Harshboy's N64p wiring diagram. Will a 7.2v battery pack be enough voltage to power the whole thing? I'll be using rechargeable D cell batteries.

yeah 7.2v will work.

yeah you can solder onto the pads. just make sure you use a knife and scratch off the black stuff.

Why do people get so confused about soldering to controller PCBs?

Just scrape away the coating on the trace on either side of the pad and solder the wires to them. Then the wires go to the new switch.
