Couldn't this be accomplished by playing the copy of RE4 for the Gamecube on the Wii?

Hopefully they're adding more content to the game other than just the Wii motion control stuff. Otherwise it's a pretty lame attempt to cash in on an old game. For people that don't own the GC version it's nice I suppose, but otherwise it seems pretty pointless.

Just my 2 cents for what little they're worth.

Yeah most people would rather pay $20 for the gamecube version than pay $50 for the wii version.
Meh, I don't post much.

survival horror is one area that I really want to try on wii, after seeing early wiimote concepts handling flashlight control.
I don't know if resident evil is going to give me what I want, though.

I have yet to play a survival horror game that didn't become too 'combat based' later on in gameplay for my tastes, but I'd really like to play one that was more 'run the heck away' based. "you can hit him with that flashlight all you want to, he's still going to eat your soul"

I've heard enough good things about RE4 that I want to play it on some system.

Again why does everyone get all lathered up for ports of PS2/GC games for the Wii with tacked-on controls, yet say it's "more innovative than the 360 / PS3"

The Wii is a gimmicky POS that Nintendo has suckered people into buying with their "more costly than the actual system's development" advertising scheme.

THANK you! That's EXACTLY my point! Everyone bashes Sony and Microsoft for having too many sequels, yet they crap their pants every time a Gamecube game gets "updated" for the Wii.

The Wii's only "draw" is the controller. Other than that it's a Gamecube with a modem.

I doesn't?!

Any who, I agree totally with Bic and Ben. You'd think that Nintendo could lower the system price down to $200, $150 even. Sure they'd lose some, but that'd really stick it to the competition.

I want one, but it might come down to Meijer Super Saturday (GC=$150, Saturday=$100).

Yeah and I guess the DS was the same way............

and if people were hating the Wii, it wouldnt have sold around 6 1/2 Million Units in less than half a year, while the 360 sold around 10 mill in a Year and a half.

And suckered, how did they get suckered into buying it, they wanted to buy it.

Everyone thinks that just because the way things are going now with games, is gonna happen the whole 5 years its out, it hasnt even been out for even half a year yet, and people are bashing in the Wii already.

And If I recall, late this year, or early next year, Wii is supposed to get a Exclusive Guitar Hero Game (Not Guitar Hero 1 or 2)

NIGHTS for the Wii looks like a nice 3rd party game.
and we are still waiting for DS to Wii Conectivity, for possibly DS demo Downloads, and for using the DS as a Controller (AKA: FF:CC:TCB)

The only thing I can Recall being on the 360 that is good, was all Over-rated, (Lost Planet was thought to be a Halo killer, nope was'nt) (Gears of War, Extremly fun Online play, but story was WAY to short, almost as short as Half life 2:Episode 1)(Guitar Hero 2: A port of the PS2 version with a couple extra songs tagged onto it and a Download feature, nothing to special there)(Halo 3: We all know this was hyped to f*en hell and back, and won't be as goos as people expect, but even that, I still am looking forward to this game (Only 360 Game I am Looking forward to)

See the 360 isn't all High and mighty either, in fact I think Microsoft and Wii have about the Same probs.

Just because Wii does'nt have Highly popular FPS Online shooters, and off-line shooters mean that the system is bad?

And Virtual Console games being overpriced? BS, start going to some Used game stores, Look at all the NES games and SNES games and N64 games, the good ones are usually at least $10 or more, Ebay doesnt count because some old fart probably cleans out their Garage and doesnt know what they are worth, so they start the bids at $00.01 and bids only go up about a dollar per bid (If any bids at all)

I would agree. I am by no means a fan of the Wii, but the incessant bashing and console war BS does get a little old even for me.

This guy came in here mentioning the re-release of a GC game for the Wii that he is excited about and within 5 posts the discussion devolves into yet another console wars thread.

Maybe we should have a console wars forum created and then those of us who want to rip on the individual systems can go in there and have at it.

Wow, I didn't think it was possible for someone to troll on his own boards, but thanks, Ben, you've now brought prejudice and senseless bashing to a new low. If anyone else had blatantly started a flame war as you had just done, he would have been dealt with by a mod, but since you're the head admin, who's able to keep you in check but yourself? Use some common sense next time, or just keep quiet if you can't control the urge to spout some bias.

I've played this game through six times and unlocked all the special stuff, so a new control scheme alone wouldn't warrent another purchase (plus the purchase of a Wii). Since this game was on GCN and PS2, there probably aren't that many people who own a Wii that hadn't also had a previous chance to play the game, so it seems that they're banking on re-purchases rather than aiming at new players. Thus, it probably won't be $50, since the PS2 port was only $40 and the game is even older now, and there will most likely be some extras (at least for the GCN players who missed out on the PS2 exclusives).

I, for one, cannot wait to try this game out. I never had the chance to play it on the GCN and can't wait to try it out with the Wii's controller. :)
