I got a Maglite (these things own you should get one) and it came with a LED instead of a light bulb so it never burns out!

Those maglite LED's are freakin huge.....huge as in 3 WATTs of LED light!! If you could power it with a DC-DC converter (because they run on 3 or 4.5 volts depending on how many cells the flashlight has), it would be a great solution for backlighting the PSOne screen.

I bought fifty 3mm 10,000 mcd leds from eBay a couple of weeks ago. It cost $12, which included shipping from Hong Kong. Go look there.

I like LS Diodes a lot. They're cheap, and you can get what you are usually looking for.

you can get a ton really cheap on ebay. I got 100 3mm 10,000mcd LEDs for $21

...

I mean, that's pretty bright, and is usually only found in 5mm LEDs, I believe....

Well, they're just as bright as the last 10 cd LEDs I bought, so either I've been ripped off twice from two different places or I got what I wanted.
