Yeh, GC screens are junk, I got 3 for $30 off ebay and it was like paying $30 for a pile of junk. I cant even get them to turn on half the time! They are REALLY blurry too.

yeah, GC screens are crap :P......they're too thick, they consume too much power, and the image sucks. thank God there are still psone screens out there :)!!!!!!! (btw, I called TRU today and they have one for about $20 :D)

I bought one on ebay for around $30 awhile ago, and although they aren't good for much I put one into my custom bench psu (inside an old tackle box. It sometimes electrocutes me  ) and it works fine since I glued every wire in place :)
Works nice for testing portables ;)

I pretty much am finished, just need to paint it and put a cover on the disc drive, and there is no way I'm gonna sell it. Soon I'll begin working on a GCp guide so if you want one, you'll have to build it yourself.

hmmmmmm........I was reading one of Ben's essays (again ), and I came across this quote:
benheck wrote:we will see a portable Gamecube by 2006.
ha! looks like I've proved Ben wrong :P!!!!!!
but really, he's actually right in a way, as we might see the GBE in 2006 and it may be similar to GC (at least in graphics). it may or may not use GC disks, but if it's got similar specs, I'm saying it's a remade GC turned portable :P.
anyway, just thought I'd point out that I have proven the 2001 Ben Heckendorn wrong :P!!!!!!

He said by 2006, not in 2006. So you just proved him right :P

Congratulations Gamelver!!! You've done an amazing job!!! I love what you were able to accomplish with the unit, and you've inspired me to give something similar a try. I know nothing about hacking a system or putting one together, so I can't wait for your tutorial!!!

Beautiful (and very functional) piece of hardware.

Very cool. I look forward to checking it out. I'm going to get the book Ben is releasing in the coming weeks and hopefully the chapter on electronics and wiring and such will give me enough of an introduction to where I can understand things for when your tutorial is released.

Again, amazing work!
