I don't know anything about good emulators for Macs. That said...

1. I've never heard of PCE Ultra. Do you mean FCE Ultra? Regardless, FCE Ultra never worked for me... though I understand A LOT of people prefer it. I use NesterJ. My has stayed loyal to Jnes, which is good too. But... seriously, NesterJ FTW.

2. ZSNES is, and will always be better than SNES9X. ZSNES emulates sound better, for one. ZSNES also has better chip support (Super FX, ect.).

3. The best emulator for Sega classics (Genesis, Megadrive CD, Mega CD and 32X) is Gens. Hands down. There's nothing wrong with it... it's absolutely perfect for any game I've tried with it.

That's all I have to say for now. Oh, and mods... please don't freak out about this topic... emulation at its CORE is NOT illegal.

Oh, and for the record, with the emulators listed above, I can play any game at full speed on my K6-II 333MHz computer with 64MB of RAM. I can NOT play any game at full speed in SNES9X on that computer. >.>

I'm not sure if there are actual system requirements for any of them. But let's just put it this way: I wouldn't run them with anything less than what I mentioned above.

If a console was made 4 years after the system was succeeded, then It most likely can emulate that system.

here is what i use

snes - snes9x, zsnes might run better on low spec machines but snes9x is way better if your computer is over 500mhz

n64- ive used a bunch and the one that works best with me is nineteen64

genesis - gens of course! works great

amiga - winUAE! the only real choice except for fellows DOS version

NES - i never did much nes emulation but nesticle worked well

saturn - SSF, i used it to play my games that wouldnt run in my saturn

arcade - MAME of course except for CPS2 which i used nebula for

SNES:ZSNES No dought about it, this is probably the Overall best Emulator Ever made, and was the First Emulator I ever used, and it is still being updated.
N64: Project64
Genesis: I really dont have a Genesis Emulator so I cant say.
Arcade: MAME but I still havnt figured out how to use it.
GBA/GB: Visualboy advance (Dont excatly remember the name but Ive used it and it was awsome)

Of course these are all Emulators run on Windows.

What could I run an a say, 266mhz?

You can run Everything up to 16bit systems, might be some lag or shuddering, but it should be able to run them with enough ram. You should have at the very least a 500MHz system to run the N64 emulators, though possible with lower, better safe then laggy.

I should look into some of these again, I have a 360 I don't play too much and the controller is about the best out there for playing emulated games. And I'd love to play General Chaos once more.

I have a question anyone know of a good PSone emulator? I have a game I'd like to show a friend and nether of us have a Playstation (modded). Also could a P4 at about 1.5GHz run that kind of an emulator?

I used to use Connectix VGS, but it's somewhat hard to track down. epsxe is one of the best PSX emulators, in my opinion.

You shouldn't have any problems with that PC for PSX games. (My 500mhz P3 laptop runs epsxe in 320x240 just fine... drops frames a bit in 640x480 though.)

there is only one problem I've had with epsxe, that is it will only recognize one type of cd-image, any others had to be converted,

and converting is like translating, there always a little something lost

For PS1 emulation, get ePSXe. I have little to no knowledge of computer specs though. All I can say is try it, see if you like it. It can play discs or .ISOs.
