VMU Mp3 Player

Post by Unidentified Assilant »

Yes, I know this has been asked about before, but I wondered if they're is some Mp3 software for the VMU, I am already making a PC-to-VMU link cable to make the PC read it as a USB Flash Device, and to store Mp3's on the VMU. Is that possible?

I've just noticed, this post made 2 pages of dreamcast portablizing :P

Yah it would be impossible. The MP3 VMU was never released or is extremely rare, and it would be impossible to mod a current VMU to be one. Current VMUs have very limited memory(Not even enough to store one song if I remember correctly) and they doen't have the capability to play anything except beeps on the speakers. Even if you were able to mod a headphone jack, the actual processor would probally be incapable of playing MP3.

You could just rip the guts out and use the case to hold all the componites for the mp3. Granted you'd need a special interface to keep it looking like a VMU and load the music on it. But can you put a price on being the only kid in your state with a VMU mp3 player?

State? Any way, I thought about buying an MP3 player, ripping it apart with my VMU and shoving the guts in, and people will be like, how did you do that?
