SNESp Battery?
Can I use a 9v (cd no li) for a SNES portable? this portable will just be something to have where there is no Outlets, like a Car, or in the Middle of nowhere lol, I just found this Battery sitting in an old Remote control car, I dont know if its good because its been sitting in my basement for a few years.

Get a Ni-MH battery for an SNESp, make sure it's around 7 volts; Radioshack sells a nice 7.2v pack that would work perfectly. 9v is just pushing it a bit for the PSOne screen. Also, if you plan on getting any substantial playtime out of your portable, I recommend a battery rated at 3 amps or greater, it'll simply give you better playtime.

that is better
I found some 2500 mah NiMH double A batteries at Batteries+ that were four for $10. If you have a soldering iron that can get hot enough to solder batteries, it isn't hard to make your own packs. Desoldering braid does a terrific job of connecting the battery terminals. I made a 7 cell pack for my SNESP and it works great. I should be able to get about three hours of playing time on a full charge.
I agree. This is a kick ass battery, cause I just bought one from RatShack.
However, here's a cool tidbit:
Remember those "torpedo" rechargeable packs made for the gamegear?
Well, they use this exact size pack, except the original NiCads suck and by now are looooooong dead.
Soooo, I just spliced the wiring to the new pack from RatShack, and presto, it's a ready-power source for all my portables and anything that uses 7.2v!!!
Best thing of all, it recharges using an ac adapter from a genesis.
Cheers,
SNESguy

If all else fails, take it apart!
