i have a gp2x which i freaking love does most anything i want it to do. emus are not perfect but can play most games ok.

an fc twin is pretty sweet which i also own and will be a port when i get a lcd and some time to rip it all apart and put it in a case. so far it plays every snes game i got (i got like 40 or so carts) and has the same issues as the other noacs but for the most part plays nes games just fine.

snes is my fav system of all time. and of that list, the saturn is the only system the gp2x cant emulate (or atleast as far as i know, was never a big saturn fan anyway so i never really bothered to look).

For all of the 16 and 8 bit consoles, just use an emulator on a PC, PSP, or GP2X.

If you want a GP2X, unless you have an urge to support the little people, get a PSP instead. You get flawless PS1 emulation (made by Sony) and the N64 emulator is coming along well.

Last I heard zelda was only at 5 fps.

I would say GP2X it is just a nice fun handled with lost of fun homebrew.

theres nothing like playing the game on original hardware. I personally dislike Emulations.

The N64 emulator on the PSP is doing about as well as the PS1 emulator on the GP2X. I suspect that most early N64 games will be somewhat playable when the emulator is "complete." Mario 64 ranges from 6 to 15 fps right now.
I personally dislike Emulations.
I guess it is just a matter of preference, and of how many times you can think "emulation is like masturbation" while keeping a straight face. Emulation allows one device to do many things, but you take a hit to quality and accuracy.

only opinion based on specs not actual usage of either machine BUT i would go for the GP2x rather than the psp, just for the fact that its linux and more adaptable (movies etc dont need converting... thats gotta be a plus - no lost time converting to psp format). Also it seems more true to the portabilizing community... more hack friendly...?!

just an opinion - please correct me if im wrong or debate - cos im interested in getting a gp2x myself now!
First project = A portable arcade cabinet... practical? no... Fun? HELL YEAH!

Yes, Yes it does. To bad you can't make a portable Vectrex machine.... :? I wonder if you can convert the Vector output on it to something modern TV's can handle.... Off to Google!!!

So, it's just like a couple of cool looking white objects on a vector screen without the overlay?

yep.v Gah foiled by google! There seems to be no realistic way to get composite (or RF for that matter) out of a Vectrex system
