Coby dvd player with screen and sega games...

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

ooooops due to a typo by me on google i didnt find much on it at first but have now.

Portable DVD/CD/MP3 player comes with 12 built-in Sega® games. Superslim player has a 3-1/2" TFT color display, plus anti-skip circuitry, multiple viewing angles, zoom operation, slow/fast motion play, convenient on-screen display and more. Includes such games as Altered Beast, Assault City, Ecco, Sonic Blast, Sonic Chaos and more...

Still wondering on price - retail is $150. A bit steep isnt it? I would of thought nearer $100, yeah i know it has a widescreen but its tiny.

AND it says 12 games but only lists 5 - im guessing its the same kinda games as the coleco/playpal portable - probably similar rom chip(s).

Steep price prolly based on that it is a portable dvd player, which usually go around that price. The games are most likely an afterthought, but it is a cool thing to see.

I saw that in some catalog the other day. I was going to post about it but forgot. I'll find the catalog and tell you which one it is in case anyone wants one. The thing I was wondering is if there was any way to wire a cartridge slot to it and have it be recognized.

I checked, not at target- they have something else much crappier. If these drop to a more reasonable price I'll definitely have to check it out.

Oh man, imagine ripping the dvd guts out of this thing, adding a cartridge connector and rearanging the controls a little.
