analog controller for snes?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Well. You might. But i would require some sort of device to pick up the signals and translate them. In most cases someone who has the knowledge would know that. You could be an exeption. And how did you make the dev cart? (i'm guessing putting ic sockets on the pin's).

I just didn't really know anything about the controllers, and never played with the stuff inside them. And i know a need an ADC to make use of an analog stick, i was just thinkingm that maybe the n64 analog has it built-in.

About the Devcart, that would be offtopic, but I'll tell you:
I'm using carts with desoldered mask roms as motherboards. Have a 32 pin tape soldered up to dip sockets, where one goes to the pcb i've made holding 8x 29f040 (512 kbyte memory) and 1x74HCT138 decoder. the pcb is placed in another SNES case, so it doesn't look all that bad. And it's "portable" so ican use it in LoROM and HiROM + special chips, it depends on the motherboard I'm using. The only thing that's stupid, is it's size and programming it all with my willem(takes time...)

Yeah, it can be quite annoying, as seeing that you only need the second one. haha :)

A little delayed response, but I was actually thinking of MAME cabinets joysticks. If you find what I'm talking about it'll have either 4 or 8 wires.

Or 5 and 9, if there's a common ground or seomthing.

basically they are 2 completly different things, they work totally different. the n64 analog stick uses photodiodes to detect the direction. the closest you could get without modification is a digital stick like used in the gp2x

The Messias has analog controllers but it's a NES copy. I do think they work in the same way.

hte point we are trying to make is that you seen to be going through a lot of trouble for this, an since the snes does not have a single game with analog function, It really isn't worth looking into,

I would however, like to see a full tutorial on your Dev Cart, That sounds interesting, what Special chips do you have support for?

playing street fighter or zelda alttp would own on an analog ;)

As for the devcart. It's quite simple, you just need some pinout data, a soldering iron, free time, some eproms(or flashroms) and you're good to go :P

How about in the lines of the nes advantage-the big chuncky controller for the nes?-- but in a much smaller form. I was inquiring about this for my first portable.

well then all you want is an acrcade switch :D

All you need it to just get a switching joystick, they are actually more reliable than the n64 joystick anyway,

I want to know are you basically looking for a SNES ADVANTAGE?
