Please dont laugh

Post by Joes2Silly »

Right now I am typing with foam attached to my finger with super glue. I was making a ghetto knuckle duster out of a CD, and I needed to glue some foam to protect my hand.... Long story short I need to know how to remove this crap :)

I think some acytone-based nail polish remover around it should get it off.

Super glue remover. Stores like Dollar General carry it. Make sure to see if it shouldn't be used on foam (some stuff can't).

And why in space did you decide to make a knuckleduster out of a cd?!

I usually just rip off the top layer of skin with a good pair of pliers. It doesn't hurt enough to matter. If you can't get the stuff you need…

When I use superglue I'm just careful not to get it stuck to my fingers. I move my fingers once or twice before it dries so I know they aren't stuck.

Then I sand off the remaining bits dried on my fingers. It really works well!

I'm always messy with adhesives...

I did something like this yesreday, only with HOT HOT HOT hot glue. It burned like mad, and when I cooled it and tried to peel it off, a chunk of skin came off too. Long story short I have a 5-7mm squared chunk of exposed, seared flesh. I didn't think hot glue was THAT dangerous.

Joe, any luck on removing it? Give us an update!

Yeah. After you rip off the top layer of skin, cover the exposed area with superglue.

Seriously. Stuff works just like Liquid Bandage.

I would have done that, but instead I just used LIQUID BANDAGE, and a good old fashioned bandaid. :P
And it IS superglue, with a few fancy things thrown in.
