Soft Modding my Xbox?

Post by Jongamer »

Ok I have a few Questions on Soft modding an Xbox.

Ok
Can I make my own USB to Xbox Adaptor and Plug an External Storage Device into my Xbox Via the Controller ports and then send the Correct files for softmodding and Put them on the Hard-Drive, and then continue with the 007 Agent under fire/Mechassault Gamesave Exploits and Install a Alternative Bios like Evolution X for Example?

Or do I really need to go out and get a Action replay and have to do it that way?

Yes you can do that, but to flash your Xbox you need to solder some flash enable points on the mobo.

Check xbox-scene.com for tutorials and stuff.

It may depend on which version of the Xbox you're using, but I've done this three times and I've never had to solder anything. You just have to put in an Xbox Live game with the system connected to the internet and it will automatically update the BIOS to the correct version. After that, you can use the gamesave exploits without any problems.

And EvoX isn't a BIOS, it's a dashboard. Unless you are talking about the M8 BIOS, which is by the EvoX team (and yes, it sucks just as hard as the dash does).

I hate EvoX as a dash, it feels so clumsy. UnleashX and XBMC are the best dashboards.

Xecuter 2 4981 BIOS for the win.

Yes, you can use a USB to XBOX plug to use an external drive.

How I would recommend transferring files is to get every file you would need together and have them in one place. Then, create a LiveCD that uses a dashboard [I like EvoX, it's what I use], and use that to get FTP access to your xbox and then transfer the softmodding files to your xbox. There are lots of places online that will explain how to make a LiveCD. If you need help with it feel free to IM or PM me and I'll be glad to help.

can i ask you why you say this? i have been using m8 exclusively, and it boots my 'backups' just fine. whats wrong with it? do other bioses do other fancier things?

ackkk, all of Xbox-scene.com Save game Exploit download links are broken and so is the Audio Exploit link, and its a hell of a time trying to find the DDls for the Xbox HDD driver, if you have em I would like you to send em to me. and I would also like to Have the all or one of the Save Exploit files, and I would more preferably want the Files for the Audio Exploit.

@Jongamer:

Try finding everything on Xbins. It might have the files you need.

Sorry, I meant their FTP server, I forgot to clarify.

EDIT: From looking at everything, I would recommend taking a dashboard and adjusting it to overwrite the stock Xbox dashboard files. Let me talk to a friend of mine and I'll be able to help you more.
