how to fix broken game bpy?

It's the original white gam boy. The screen doesn't show anything, although I could still hear audio. What's up?

Turn the contrast knob. 90% chance of that being the problem.

There was a contrast knob on the original Game Boy? I don't remember that. Wow, it's been way too long since I've had one.

Nope. Also, I recently took it out, and it turns out that the power doesn't come on now either.

Don't use rechargable batteries, use brand new out of the packet disposables.. If those don't work, you broke it.. Pictures would help us diagnose too.
