Regular Xbox Controller on 360?

ok My freind is short of 360 controllers and has no money for more, and we like haveing huge Parties which a usually shrank by lack of controllers to use. I just made myself a Xbox Controller to usb, and I thought since the Xbox 360 has USB ports and they both use USB.

I was wondering if I can Use the USB ports in the Front of the 360 to plug a Regular Xbox controller into and have it work somwhat (Mabey not with the White/black buttons as LB and RB buttons.

I don't think so. The 360 is so much more advanced than a (I can say it now!) last-gen xbox controller.

I doubt it would work as the 360 likely doesnt have a driver that would know at all what an original xbox controller is.

If it doesn't work you can just use it as a PC joystick. CS with an Xbox controller...dare I say it.....w00t!!

Can't someone build an adapter that tricks the 360 into thinking it's a 360 controller?

building something like that takes time and effort, as well as not being as easy as just saying "i'm going to build an xbox to 360 adapter today". The effort that it would require isn't really worth it.
