Guest voice(s) for next intro
Hey I have an idea. Would anyone like to guest voice for the next intro? (Yes, a real intro, not faked like last week)
I came up with a pretty good idea today, and will probably write it in the next few days. Thus person(s) could record their parts this weekend and submit by Monday.
To enter, you must be 18 years of age and not suck at voice acting. Parts would be recorded at 44,100, mono, with a good quality headset (ie USB) Submissions should be via email in WAV format. A 3-second line will probably average about 500k.
Parts I have in mind:
Sidekick character who dies (needs a "callsign" name too) About 5 lines.
Antagonist character, kind of like the "evil tornado chaser" in Twister. 1-3 lines
Discuss!

Yeah it's just a "cover my butt" sort of thing.
Yes, it would be nice to have a new narrator instead of Dale and I taking turns. It has be to "movie narrator trailer" voice-like. You know... "In a world where blah blah blah"
I wrote some of the script, it should be pretty good. Has nothing to do with the next podcast but who cares?

Funny Spongebuell, but really you're considered an adult at 18 and if you're not 18 you have to have a parent or guardian give consent to even having your voice recorded for such an intension. Ben's right on the money, he's covering his butt.SpongeBuell wrote:I know it depends on the state, but isn't the age of consent usually around 16?gannon wrote:Most likely for legality in rights to reproduce
If anyone can stand my mono-tone voice for more then 30 seconds I could and wouldn't mind. Only things is how are you recording people's voices? Skype, the phone, Googletalk, AIM voice chat, YIM voice chat, some sort of internet voice chat?

I am a geek.

I'm game. Tell me what to say, or I can just bs into the mic for a sec or whatever. When do you need it by, who's it go to, etc, etc.
I'm kind of tired and sarcastic. I guess those're my main traits. :/

So you're hoping to find a Don LaFontaine-esque voice on a forum full of squeaky-voiced adolescents?
Sorry, I can't do it. I only have a crappy old microphone. (Besides you'd wind up with a weird Boston/Rhode Island accent mix thrown into an otherwise good intro.

I'd like to help you out Ben
I DJ at a local Radio station so I have access to a high quality Mic, and high quality equipment, meaning I can do almost anything to my voice once I record it. I have pretty good editing skills, and while I don't think my "announcer" voice is all that good, I could probably make it sound good with some tweeking.
