If you're a n00b to electronics and tools like soldering irons and dremels, I wouldnt recommend doing a portable mod for your first mod..

You need to take costs into consideration, time required, you need to be dedicated, you need to be confident with what you're doing.

It's easy enough to be inspired by someone elses mod, and want to create your own because someone else has, I get people asking me on MSN all the time to guide them, but I always talk them into doing smaller mods first, because these projects are big, and you need to know what you're doing..

I recommend starting small, doing small console mods, like changing LEDs, spray painting, cutting out parts and doing window mods, filling parts in, sanding, everything just to build your confidence... And I don't recommend using your existing console, but a cheap second hand one you'll be OK with destroying. When you're comfortable with everything you're doing, you can do bigger mods, that absolutely kick ass.

That's my advice.

Wow somehow the same thing got posted 4 times :P

Anyway, the gamecube is way more difficult then the N64 cause it has a disc drive ( a big one too), it needs a bigger battery and it has a lot of wires connected to it. If you've done a N64 portable before you should be able to do most of the connections yourself but the case building is something you need to take into consideration.

What the HELL is that signature doing on this Forum! This is supposed to be kid friendly you know :x I'd reccomend you remove it before you get a huge flaming. (No, this is not a huge flaming, just an informative rant ;))

No offense, but you can't just barge in with no known previous experience while making unintelligent posts and expect us to give you a guide on how to make a portable. If you have done as you say and already made an N64p, then you should know enough to research audio video lines and power requirements. And by the way, a big rule here (and at any other forum, really) is to check the stickies first. It's the closest thing you'll get to a how-to. Also, in that sticky, Harshboy has a beautiful wiring diagram for the Gamecube, and it should tell you everything you need to know.

Here it is:

Your huge fricking signature was getting me angry. I took about 5 seconds in Imageready to resize it.
