Quick Cart Q///NEW QUESTION, SCROLL DOWN
hey, i was looking through my stuff when i saw the ONLY
NES cartridge i have, TMNT3: The Manhattan Project. When i saw it i remembered the giromyte cart on ben's nesp story, so i grabbed the cart and shook it...i heard something knocking, it wasn't the game chip because i tried to push it to the sides and wouldn't move, so i think that it could be the same as the giromite cart...should i break it open, would i find a 72 pin connector?

i did a sort of planc to open it al ittle bit in the upper part and got a glimpse of the inside, nothing but a liiiitle board for the game, why whould nintendo make cardtridges so big , maybe so it could reach the 72 pin connector on the nes, maybe?
oh and i guess i'll hold on to the cart and well i guess look for a game that i'm positive will have the connector...

hey guys, didn't want to make ANOTHER topic so i'll post this here, i was looking at the nes micro story for the millionth time
ant looked at this
and i thought: "maybe if i cut the sj3's 60 pin connector, it can be made to accept nes carts that have all those empty pins, like TMNT 3 and a whole bunch"
do you think this can be achieved?

yes i know the spacing could be wrong, but if i position the cut cart slot just right, wouldn'ty the NEs cart fit?arfink wrote:Well, no. The pin spacing is wrong, and the board thicknesses are wrong too. Just find yourself some floppy cable connectors or a game genie to tear apart.

No, the distance between the pins is wrong. You would need to cut the connector into 60
peices and space each pin out seperately in order to make it work. Trust me, it's not worth your time to do it this way.
I would say you could make it fit, but the electrical contacts would be all messed up and it wouldn't work right. Sure, you could force the NES card edge to fit, it just wouldn't give you a working cart slot from an electrical standpoint. Seriously, you will need to spend at least a little money to get something with the right thickness and pin spacing.

Emulation isn't accurate. There is no substitute for real hardware!
