It's not that people don't care, it's that Saturn hardware is extreemly complicated when compared with N64 or Playstation, even more complicated than PS2, some say more than PS3.

It wouldn't be that cool to emulate a saturn... Emulating a dreamcast would be much more useful or a gamecube perhaps?

PS3 still can't do it, besides, if i know sony, every exploit people use to do this stuff will be patched and then hacked, then patched, etc.

I really dont think they have access to the linux side of the PS3. Once you partition the HDD and install PS3 Linux, they can't do anything to force updates.

uh yeah. the ps3 has 7 cores.

but still, they are about comparable. you really cant just multiply the clock speed by the number of cores to find out which is more powerful.

also, the cores that both systems use are much stripped down compared to their desktop cousins.

everyone is kinda wrong,

OK here is what google says:
link

XBOX 360 has Dual processors with 3 cores
PS3 has THREE cell processors with 7 cores

BOTH run at 3.2 Ghz per core, which is still insane

ie:
the XBOX360 runs at 1 Teraflop
the PS3 runs at 2 Teraflops

PS I know it is an old article but the stats have not changed
STILL The PS3 WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EMU A 360, THE Wii is a stronger possibility since it is kinda like two gamecubes, But the functionality would Prolly suck hard...

There are no decent Saturn emulators for computers :/
EDIT: YAY! POST 2000! W00T!

But that's not a hardware issue, it's a software issue; there just aren't enough people (namely programmers) that care. In theory, yes, the PS3 has the hardware to emulate Saturn, but the developer support probably won't be there.

Although I'll be interested in seeing what they do with PS2BoyAdvance; as much as I hope they continue the project for PS2, they've stated that they're moving over to PS3. I wonder if ANYONE will ever come out with a functioning GBA emulator for PS2. I've never even seen one at all, let alone one that works.

Last time i checked there is one for DC lol.

The Dreamcast Saturn Emulator can only emulate the Saturn's BIOS and get to the menu thing. It can't boot games at this point.

You're quite off. Xenon has 3 cores at 3.2GHz, each with two hardware threads. Cell has only one main core at 3.2GHz with seven much less powerful accompanying miniature cores. (Cell's main core is actually extremely similar to the three used in Xenon.) The idea that PS3 has three Cell processors is just completely wrong.
