Well......I don't own either xboxes and can't examine the screen ports from here, but if you look closely at the back of your screen and xbox and if they have similar serial ports such as svideo or the ones you see on the back of a computer to screen ports than they most likely will work as modern systems occasionally have these ports. don't rely on my information though.

Are you going to wire the screen directly to the xbox motherboard or is it sort of going to be an attatchment like the ps1 screen?

yeah...do you know where to connect it? don't ask me as I have never even touched an xbox in my life. better yet, you could, if your screen has the correct port, just hide a homemade or storebought cable in the case that connects to the xbox ports. that way you don't have to fiddle with the rf and composite modulators. You might ask ben or someone on the forum who is an xbox nerd what type of power supply and regulators you will need to powed the unit. Are you very skilled with electronics? if you are, then this project might work.If you are new to the hacking world, don't know much about circuitry, than this probably wasn't a very good start off project unless you have a good guide, such as this forum or ben himself or some book that i don't know about. If you don't know much, you could start off with ben's book-http://www.benheck.com/book/index.htm
go ahead and try this if you want, but it will probably be hard to make a replica of ben's laptop because if you read the article on it, it says it cost a lot and was his most difficult project. goodluck.

Nah i dont know how to unfortunatly, with the cable idea that is good but i am not sure wether or not the Xbox can output a VGA signal straight to a monitor. I do a little bit of electrical in school but that was just basic soldering and building PCBs. I wanted to start with this is because the only consoles i have are a PS2 and an Xbox. The Xbox is just basicly lying there collecting because the set top box has taken its place under the family TV.
Also it doesn't have to be a replica but just the look of a squareish laptop. Like a laptop from 1996, they where huge.

well, in order to find out where to link the screen to the motherboard, ask ben himself in a pm when he comes on (you can tell who's online by scrolling to the bottom of the screen.) or start a new thread so that someone else will respond, or if you're lucky someone will respond here.
