Ben's Background...?

Post by BloodNess »

hey guys, i was just reading old portables making of's on ben's site and i was just amazed at how much he knows about electronics and whatnot, i knew that he knew a lot but i rediscovered it and i just wanted to know, does ben have a background in electronics or can he just look at a motherboard and instantly program himself to decipher it automatically? :D BTW it's a real question :?

PS. The new 2600p is awesome, different but awesome...

finally got motivated again to start a portable, which i have...but with many doubts :S

I have no background in electronics, just graphic arts. But when you do this sort of thing for, wow, 7 years now you learn a lot via osmosis.

yeah, I wondered about this too.
You see, I thought ben was so good at eelectronics that I had thought he helped design Nano technological microprocessors, especialy after watching the trailer to echoes of the past in the 360 laptop making of. if you look closely in one part of the video, you see ben soldering a complex circuit board. Ben, what was that you were soldering? it looked like a computer made from scratch!

EDIT- Ben, is that a possum in your signiature?

From being on bens old forum pretty close to when he started most of us oldies (oh god im so old :( ) know he didn't have much knowledge he had a knack for soldering but didn't have the knowledge.

Like a true modder he learnt by ripping things apart and seeing how it works and trying things out.

Ahh the good old days on Classic Gaming where Black 6 was running around mad trying to keep the forum inline

Did u guys know ben made a robot for doing his own Robot wars :P

Or how about on the old classic gaming forums some kid tried to say he built a PS2 portable and he made it smaller by "Cutting out the PS1 hardware" it was very funny and caused a huge flame way.

Should be Diffusion, Osmosis only refers to the movement of Water from a substance of more negative water potential across a semi-permiable membrane to a substance of more positive water potential...

What, when what you know is science, you have to flaunt your stuff 8)
