Internet isn't working on my computer

Ok, so here is the deal; a month or two ago the internet on my computer and my brothers computer stopped working, we thought the router was broken so then we just hooked my mom's computer to the internet box directly, it worked. I tried using my ethernet cord with my mom's computer, it worked, so that means it wasn't the cords that were broken, I tried hooking my internet up directly with both my cord and my mom's cord, all I get is "Limited or no connectivity. I thought it might be my computers fault somehow, so I reinstalled windows; still the same problem. So now I have a dilema, what IS wrong? I was thinking the internet could have somehow fried both mine and my brothers internet cards, or the internet box we have somehow blocked all the computers except my mom's from accessing the internet.

Right click on the icon that says you have limited or no connectivity, and click on repair.

For my internet theres a program which fixes everything. But for you, just repair the network.

Sucks you reinstalled Windows, Windows being the crap it is isnt that bad to just dissallow internet

I already tried that, it says it can't renew the ip.

Have you restarted/reset everything? That helps sometimes.

Heh, I could have sworn I hit the reset button, guess not. Internet is working now, thanks! I feel stupid now. >.>

Two ways I could think of:
* At a friend's house
* Connecting to a neighbour's wireless network

As I stated in my first post, the internet was working on my mom's computer, just not mine.
