how the hell do i hook this thing up?

Post by dudex77 »

ok i just got my dreamcast today and it came with an rf unit instead of an av. usually this would be an easy enough thing to do but since im in europe i have no idea how their system works. for example instead of having a channell selector it has a region selector. i used region I because supposedly thats what northern ireland uses. then i hooked it all up and put it to channell 36 and tryed it out but it didnt work. i recall my dads tv in spain having two sets of channels one of which allowed me to hook up my pong machine thing and the other which didn't. i figure thats part of the problem but i have no idea how to set up this thing in ireland. if anyone knows what i need to do please let me know im just dying to play some sonic adventure.

Because it's an RF Unit, and most likely an old one. Old RF units usually cause distortion and smearing, so I recommend you get a new RF unit for you DC, if you can find one. Either that, or you can look on eBay or used game shops for an A/V cable for the DC. That should fix your problem.
