Metal Slug -VS- Contra -VS- Gunstar Heroes

I have them all and Metal Slug has always been the best. Gunstar Heroes and Contra's 'unlimited enemies' gets rather annoying and the animation isn't as fluid or detaild. Not to mention you don't get to drive tanks and fly in planes and such. Metal Slug also has the best bosses and character work...if anyone has Metal Slug for Sega Saturn they should check out the artwork section, it shows all the insane detail and immagination the people at SNK had and put into the MS series.

Metal Slug

I use to play contra on my c64 then on arcade and i've never played Gunstar hero's altho every genesis freak loves it so i'll try it tonight

But metal slug is the winnder its got great gameplay great graphics and animations are excellent

also Metal slug has a kind of humor in the gameplay which i like

I'm a Genesis freak and I don't love Gunstar Heroes...

I think it's terribly overrated.

The game just never gets old for me the animations are so smooth and crisp i just love this game

This game is ment to be played on an Arcade monitor it makes it feel perfect

metal slug wins, because I can play the portable version on my neo geo pocket color, whereas I have no way of playing true portable contra or gunstar heroes at the moment.

gunstar heroes comes in second, and contra lags behind at third. fun, but it just can't beat the subtle beauty of metal slug.

speaking of metal slug, what consoles have had MS games on them?

contra is simply the greatest shooter ever made.

those that say its too hard just dont try hard enough.

there is simply no better feeling that when you are playing contra 3 with a friend and battle the last boss with two lives and your friend dies leaving you alone in front of the that last boss and you try like mad not to get hit until then.... suddenly... its over, you cant make it better.

i have played and completed every metal slug, it was all too easy, really.
