The right OoT

Post by ShockSlayer »

Ok, so for christmas I want to get an orcarina of time. I know i know, sounds nerdy. But i want it. I've seen a 5 hole one in a newpapery thing of my friends, and a 4 hole one on the interweb, but I don't know which one is best to get. And there seem to be different versions. If someone could help me figure this out, I would greatly appriciate it. And, If you have one, tell me what its like.

One in the game has 5 holes IIRC (4 on top, 1 on bottom). I've played them before and they're not bad if made right.

For a second I was wondering why the hell you would want holes like punched out of the game. I feel dumb now.

the one in the game actually had 9 holes, seven on the fron and two for thumb holes i believe. although, with the hole configuration on the fron, im not sure how you would play that

the ocarina is the real art, then someone used it in something else. i remember seeing this in the game, as well as the official players guide.

id say, go with the 5 hole one, it has a better range, so you should be able to play most of the songs (i know that epona's song and saria's song both need 5 holes, i have a four hole sadly)

An ocarina is a real instrument but good luck finding the "ocarina of time"

Joking aside they are quite hard to play properly, its not just like a recorder where you can pick one up and play it

but by all means go for it

The small ones which are advertised in Nintendo Power are afordable. But for the real deal you would pay up to 250$

I have a Spencer 12 hole ocarina, it's the real deal too, looks and all. Cost me about $250 but it's a real instrument and it sounds GREAT! Leaps and bounds over my Songbirds (the ones advertised in NP). Songbirds are good for beginners though.
