This article says that it's a possibility. I think that this would be very interesting. Possibly an Intel or even AMD powered game console running Mac OS. That would be the most badass console ever!

I very much doubt they'd come out with another home game console (yes, they've already put one out in the '90s, called the Pippin, that flopped). Much more likley, IMO, is evolving the iPod into a portable gaming platform. Adding more gaming features here and there to make gaming on an iPod less of a novelty and more of a feature.
The console wars aren't as bad now as they were about 6ish years ago imo. Maybe Apple could come out with some games that played with its strongpoints... giant rendering artsy stuff maybe... I dunno. :/
My favorite genre right now is Myst-like games. And the DS does them just fine with the stylus to manipulate stuff, so I'm fine with what I have though. :/

what myst like games are there for the ds? i like myst too.
i cant picture any 'true' gamer buying an apple console for the purpose of gaming on. they dont have any big name franchises to bring people over to them. they are also huge multinational corporations with many different product lines and an affection for DRM. much like sony...

Well I know it got dogged on, on one of the podcasts, but Trace Memory is really awesome. One of the very few games in the last who knows how long I've played all of the way through. It's sequel is coming out soon called Hotel Dusk: Room 215.
And I know they aren't like exact Myst clones but... I like adventuring in a new land, and it not feeling like a game. There's more but since I havn't played them (not made of money) I can't really speak to how good they are, but fire up GameFAQs and look up like...
Lost in Blue (sequel coming soon)
Pheonix Wright (and sequel)
Touch Detective
Trauma Center
Cooking Mama
LostMagic (Maybe... probably the only RTS for a handheld you'll ever play. Uses stylus to cast spells like a wand, very fun)
I actually played the first Pheonix Wright and it had me for a while, then became too easy but it sucked me right in. The rest sort of have mixed reviews so maybe look at the reviews and see if they look interesting.
