What in your opinion are the top 10 games released this year on the basis of quality and totaly fun-ness.

Some of the Canidates in my idea are

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Final Fantasy XII
Maddon '07 (kinda forced in there)

Call me craze but I didn't like Gears of War that much. Anyway, my list

I liked Dreamfall... (the greatest sequal to the greatest Point-&-Click adventure game of all time, "The Longest Journey") I wouldn't consider it one of the best games of the year though...

Metroid Prime Hunters should probably be on the 'Top 10' list...

If I were making a top ten for the year, you are correct in that Gears would definitely be on it.

However the following games would rank ahead of it on my list.

Oblivion (360)
Test Drive Unlimited (360)
Empire at War (PC)

Those three are the cream of the crop for 2006 in my opinion.

I'm really not too impressed by this year. But who knows? Maybe the next month will bring something.

Kingdom Hearts II, Twilight Princess, and of course, FINAL FANTASY XII!!!!! This game was amazing, one of the best RPGs of, in my opinion, all time. Definitely beats out Oblivion for best RPG by a long shot.

Others? Ummm... Tales of the Abyss was pretty good, and Gears of War was cool as well. Not much else, actually...

how come wii sports keeps coming up in people list? isnt that the crappy demo game that comes with the system

nevermind, ive played it, it IS the crappy demo game that comes with the system

i was trying to think of a game that came out this year that i have played... then i realized i havent (except wii sports)! im still playing last years games this year. oh well...

i nonimate halo 2 because its timeless.

(edit. i just remembered i got some new ds games recently. that operation one is pretty damn cool. trauma center or whatever. so i nominate that too.)

Hmm, I'm about nine hours into FFXII and I'm not finding the story line as compelling as others so far... We'll see if it picks up.
